Zena Myrtle Smith nee Slyfield

Zena passed away peacefully at the Memorial Miramar Hospital, Miramar, Florida.

Formerly of Westmoreland, Jamaica, Zena resided in Florida with her daughter Marlene and was the matriarch of the Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church Choir in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Zena had a long career at Frome Sugar Estate in Jamaica where she worked as the Factory Manager's Secretary until she retired. Prior to that she worked at Hanover Agency in Lucea, Jamaica and at one time owned her own business; Zena's Kiddie Center in Savanna-La-Mar.

She was preceded in death by her parents Astley Slyfield and Blanche Cork-Slyfield from Falmouth, Jamaica, her husband of 49 years, Arthur Reginald Smith and son Patrick Smith.

She left behind 1 son Steve Smith, 3 daughters Michele Thomas (Leroy), Angela Hughes (Steven) and Marlene Smith along with 10 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, 2 sisters -in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church, 2801 N University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024 on Saturday January 27th 2024 at 2:00 pm, (viewing at 1:00PM). Zena will then be transported to Jamaica for a second service on February 10th 2024 at the St. George's Anglican Church, Great George St., Savanna-La-Mar and will be laid to rest at St Paul's Anglican Church cemetery Little London, Westmoreland.
