Obituary

A TIME TO BE BORN:

Mr. Willie Lee Shellmon affectionately known as "Pap" and "Hoss," was born February 5, 1943 in Ellabell, Georgia to Mr. Clifford Shellmon Sr. (d.1942) and Viola "Hoochie" Shellmon (d.1996) both of whom preceded him in death.

A TIME TO PLANT:

Willie grew up in Ellabell and Savannah, Georgia with his eight siblings.  He attended Bryan County Public Schools. Willie later moved to Miami, Florida where he lived the remainder of his life. Upon moving to Miami he was employed by Truly Nolen Inc., where he dedicated over 30 years of service as a Supervisor of Fumigation. While there, he trained and mentored many before retiring in 2008.

A TIME TO LOVE:

In 1972, Willie met the love of his life, Miss Pearlie B. Newsome. Their love for each other continued to grow and in 1983, Willie and Pearlie B. were married.  God blessed their union with three wonderful children and nine grandchildren. They were inseparable until God called Pearlie home in 2004.

A TIME TO REST:

On June 27, 2022 the Lord called Willie home to continue his everlasting life. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his beautiful wife; one sister: Mother Sallie Brinson; five brothers:  Andrew, Robert, Nathaniel, and Thomas Collins, and Clifford Shellmon, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory four children whom he protected and loved immensely: Willie Shellmon, Kunta Shellmon, Alisa Shellmon-Tresvant, Jemell Ferguson(Latrice); nineteen grand-children: Marcus Chubbs, Deja Chubbs, Kunta Shellmon Jr.,      Kaitlyn Shellmon, Willie Shellmon, Shalis Tresvant, Shakynah Tresvant, Shalyah Tresvant, Alayah Shellmon, Janiah Ferguson, Tamia Collins, Jemell Ferguson Jr., Sonya Ferguson, Jamon Ferguson, Jaliah Ferguson, Javion Haynes, Melhana Mitchell, Ja'keem Ferguson, Ja'heem Ferguson; one great grandson: Ayden Brown; Two Sisters: Overseer Donnie Houston of Savannah, GA and  Gloria Foulk of Philadelphia, PA;  four sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
