Wanda Elaine Bostick was born on February 3, 1959 in Miami, Florida to the late Era Mae Bostick and Andrew Bruton.

Wanda matriculated through the Miami Dade County Public School system where she graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School in 1977. Upon graduation she attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. Wanda left the highest of seven hills and returned home and   later received her Bachelor of Science degree from Union Institute.

Before receiving her degree, she started her career as a Paraprofessional with Miami Dade County Public Schools at Myrtle Grove Elementary. She advanced her career and became a Science teacher at Lawton Chiles and North Dade Middle Schools. Her lifelong work was creating a fun environment for the development of young minds in the STEM fields. She loved her family fiercely and was an avid "Dolph-fan".

Wanda leaves to mourn her sister Andrea Graves of Miami Gardens, FL and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Yvonne Bates, Gloria Jean Bostick, Carol Clay, Bertha  Alexander, Vernessa Bostick, and Larry Bostick.
