Obituary

On December 15,1948 a beautiful young baby girl was born in the district of Mellowswood (Elderslie) In the Parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica to Margaret Stewart and Ivan Daley. She was the first child for Margaret and the second for Ivan Daley.

Viola attended the Elderslie Basic and Primary school where she lived with her parents, brother Philbert and sister Lilly for some time.

Margaret and her two girls later moved to the district of Vauxhall where Viola attended the Maggoty All Age school.

At about the age of nineteen (19), Viola moved to Kingston to pursue a better more prosperous life. In a short time, she became an astute successful businesswoman and was widely known especially in the Crossroads area of Kingston. She was also a member of the Half Way Tree Baptist Church. She loved her family very much and did not keep her success to herself, so she helped motivate and elevated most of them to achieve a better life. She travelled the world over gaining  knowledge and experience to be a better entrepreneur.

In nineteen eighty-eight (1988) Viola migrated to the Cayman Islands for a few years. She then left for Canada in nineteen ninety (1990) and eventually settled down in the United States in nineteen ninety-two (1992).

In nineteen ninety-four (1994) she met and married Mr. Cleveland Brown and they both adopted their beautiful daughter Barbara. During this time Miss Viola worked very hard at various jobs and cultivated some true and lasting relationships. She also attended the Mount Hope Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a member up until the time of her passing.

In nineteen ninety-seven (1997) Mrs. Viola Brown seek and got employment at the Nursing Home. She developed true friendship and lasting relationship with all who worked there and for twenty-four (24) years she has been steadfast and dedicated until the time of her death. She was truly and unquestionably the Marvick of the family.

Mrs Viola Brown is survived by her daughter Barbara Brown James; four (4) sisters Lilly, Dorothy, Esmine and Jacqueline; seven (7) brothers: Philbert, Desmond, Patrick, Derrick, Eagon, Tony and Wayne Vallin (Deceased); numerous nieces, nephews, families, friends, and associates. May she find rest and comfort in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
