Shayon
Tresvant
Apr 13, 1973 — Oct 24, 2021
Miramar
A TIME TO BE BORN:
Shayon Hiram Tresvant, also known as Shay, was the first born to Geraldine Jackson (2003) and Albert William Tresvant Jr. (2002), both of whom preceded him in death.
A TIME TO PLANT:
Shayon grew up in Westview Terrace Apartments where he made everlasting friends, Derrick Smith and Jonathan "Bee Bee" Blutcher. Throughout his schooling and later years, he remained a consultant, friend, encourager, and confidant to many, including a special high school friend, Stanley Wright who affectionately coined Shayon's nickname, "Pumpkin." Shayon also inspired positive attitudes, unity, and closeness in his family.
Shayon attended Miami-Dade Public schools. In 1991, he graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School, after which he attended the University of Miami and competed as a football player, winning a National Title in 1992. In 2002, Shayon earned his Masters of Education at Nova Southeastern University. In 2007, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Reflecting his love for learning and teaching, Shayon devoted over 15 years of his professional life to educating, mentoring, coaching and encouraging others – especially the younger generation.
A TIME TO LOVE:
In 2009, Shayon married his childhood friend, Alisa Shellmon and God blessed their union with five wonderful children and a grandson. Their commitment to one another started in 2000 and they were inseparable ever since. In July 2021, Shayon needed a kidney and just like they were a perfect match in life, Alisa's kidney was a perfect match for Shayon, her love.
TIME TO REST:
On October 24, 2021 the Lord called Shayon home to continue his everlasting life.
He leaves to mourn his Wife, Alisa, to whom he was devoted and loved very much; Son: Marcus Chubbs; Daughters: Deja Chubbs, Shalis, Shakynah, Shalyah Tresvant; Grandson Ayden Brown; Nephews: Tavaris, Tariq, Tamir; Sisters: Shayla Tresvant, Wanda Alston Tangela Henry (Denfield); Brothers: Albert Kevin Tresvant (Sandra), Michael Tresvant (deceased), Roderick Tresvant (Lissett); Father-in-law: Willie L.
