Rosalyn Adel Portier was born on August 28, 1944, to the late Alfred and Ella Mae Portier.
Rosalyn Portier was formerly married to Wilson Johnson. From their union were four children. While they both went on to remarry, they remained in touch throughout their lives.
To support her family, Rosalyn held several jobs throughout the years. She also earned a Certificate in Social Work from Barry College of Social Work. However, she found her longtime employer with the United States Postal Services where she made many long-time friends who she stayed in contact with over the years. She retired after over 20 years of service.
Rosalyn is known for her dynamic personality, and you know you were going to get a laugh in her presence. Her close friends have many names for her, most of them related to expressways because they knew she didn't like driving on them.
Rosalyn Portier leaves to celebrate her life, her oldest, a son Theodore (Bridget), her daughters, Kimberly (Luis), Sonja (Greg), Chermora and siblings, Yvonne, Sylvia (Ulysses), Joanne (Valentine), and Anthony (Rosalyn); grandchildren, KeChaundra, An'drenesha (Roscoe), Theodore Jr., Kymmeishia (Quinton), Korella, Zarian and Zavian (Stephanie), Malik, Bella; great-children, Tra''Niyah, Brianna, Roscoe Jr., Terence Wilson, Zahara Journey, Zalensia Rosalyn, Selena Anna and a host of family members, relatives, friends and care givers who are mourning with us. One sister Alfredia (William) also preceded her in death.
