Ronald was born on April 17, 1943, in Big Bridge, Westmoreland, Jamaica, to Benjamin and Mary Barrett. He was the eldest of ten children, six boys and four girls and in survived by Charles, Ingrid and Roshanara who lives in Jamaica and could not be here because her husband Winston passed away two days after Ron did.

Ron attended Savannah La Mar Primary School in Westmoreland and later a trade school to become a tailor. At the age of thirty-five, he went to the Bahamas and worked for twelve years on the cruise ship SS Emerald of the Seas. He migrated to the USA and worked at Miami International Airport for six years and then with the Miami-Dade County School Board for seventeen years and retired in 2011.

He was the father of two daughters, Bronia (Susan) and Petronia who preceded him in death in Jamaica. He is survived by his daughter Susan, nine grandchildren, four great-grand-children and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.

In 2002, Ron and Jacinta were married and attended Sunny Isles Christian Church where they served faithfully. He enjoyed singing, playing dominoes, cooking and fishing.

In the latter years of his life, he was close to his sister-in-law Vivian and his neighbors, Hector and Millie Beltran. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends and of course, his three dogs - Coco, Ruby and Ginger - which he loved a lot. He spent much of his time with them cooking, feeding and playing with them. Rest in Peace Our Beloved!
