"Grams"
Pansy entered this world with a God-given light warm, steady, and unmistakably radiant. Born and raised in beautiful Jamaica, she carried with her the spirit of the island: strong, joyful, resilient, and full of life. Her journey took her across many places and many travels, but no matter where she went, she lived with gratitude on her lips and faith in her heart. Her favorite words, spoken often and with conviction, were:
"Thank God for life."
Pansy was a woman deeply anchored in her love for Jesus. Her relationship with God was the foundation of her strength. She prayed with purpose, believed with confidence, and trusted God through every season of her life. Her faith was not loud or boastful; it was steady, faithful, and lived out through compassion, generosity, and the way she treated others. Anyone who knew her could feel the peace she carried, the wisdom she walked with, and the prayers she whispered over her family. Her Bible was worn, her faith unwavering, and her love for Jesus shined through everything she did.
She dedicated over 37 years of her life to serving others at the Miami Jewish Home, where her kindness, patience, and commitment touched countless lives. She worked with dignity, humility, and care, always giving more than what was required, always showing love in the smallest details. Her coworkers respected her deeply, and the residents she cared for adored her.
Yet among all of her roles ; traveler, caregiver, friend, sister, Pansy's heart belonged most fiercely to her children and her grandchildren. She loved her children with a strength that could move mountains. They were her joy, her pride, and the ones she protected with unwavering devotion. She raised them with tough love, honest words, and a strong backbone, but behind that sharp tongue was a heart overflowing with love. She guided them, disciplined them, prayed over them, and celebrated every chapter of their lives.
And then came her grandchildren. each one stealing her heart in their own special way. To them, she was more than a grandmother. She was a safe place. A storyteller. A protector. A foundation. She could fuss and love in the same breath, and the children knew that both came from the same deep well of care. She spoiled them, corrected them, prayed for them, and believed in them with her whole soul. Her home was where they felt most seen and most loved.
Pansy had that rare combination of a strong personality and a loving heart. She spoke her mind without hesitation, yet her intentions were always rooted in love. Her words could be sharp, but her embrace was soft. Her expectations were high, but her heart was tender. She loved deeply, fiercely, and with a loyalty that never wavered.
Her faith sustained her. Her family defined her. Her love shaped generations.
She leaves behind a family who will forever be grateful for her presence in their lives, children who felt her unwavering guidance, and grandchildren who will forever walk with the confidence
she placed inside them. Great grandchildren that will always hear about her lessons, her laughter, her sharp honesty, her stories, her prayers, and her love. This will echo through their lives forever.
Though we mourn her physical absence, we rejoice knowing she has returned to the Savior she loved resting now in the arms of Jesus, clothed in peace, free from every earthly burden. Her faith has become sight.
And even now, her voice is still heard in the hearts she leaves behind, gently reminding them:
"Thank God for life."
Well done, Pansy. You lived with faith. You loved with strength. And you leave behind a legacy that will never fade.
