Our Oresta, " Doll " Thomas was born in Pemboke, Georgia to the Union of the late George and Bertha Ball, November 6, 1939. George and Bertha relocated from the Georgia clay to the Beach sand in Miami, Florida with 7 offsprings, all of which has preceded Oresta in death including her beloved parents George and Bertha Ball. The Beautiful Ball sisters were, Ilka Lovett (James); Loretta McCollum (Clio); Audrey Sherman (Donald); Jeannette Dixon (Allen/still living). Her sister, Nancy Ball died an infant. Her distinguished brothers were; Junior Ball and Oliver Ball (Stella).

In January of 1965 she met the love of her life, Ulysee Thomas (nickname, Tommy or Bro.) while working at Harlem Drug Store in Miami, and he proposed to his Queen in less than a month. They married in Holy   Matrimony in March of 1965. He so affectionately called her "Doll". She was a true living doll. Her  beloved husband of 28 years preceded her in death   September 8, 1993. To this union two sons were born: Gylier and Narciss.
