LIFE'S REFLECTIONS
Noel Manhertz was born on January 20, 1948 in St. Thomas, Jamaica West Indies. Noel received his education in St. Thomas, Jamaica. After graduating from school, he moved to Kingston, Jamaica where he gained employment until he migrated to the United States. Starting a new life in the U.S brought him excitement. He immediately sought employment in the area that he loved. Therefore, he chose the food industry as a career. He worked at Fisher's Island as a chef until his retirement.
For those who knew Noel, you knew he had a great sense of humor. He loved sharing funny jokes, and stories "always had someone laughing or smiling". In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family, friends, and girls; he was a "Ladies' Man". During his retirement, he enjoyed watching the sport's game called "Jai Alai" and going to the dog track. His favorite thing to do was to be on the road, similar to Willie Nelson's song, "On the Road Again, Just Can't Wait to Get on the Road Again."
Noel's family will remember him as a special individual who always did whatever he wanted and when he wanted. He was the type of person who chose to repair something over buying something new for example: "fixing and spray painting his van green and putting WIFI on it and the Wi-Fi actually worked in the van. He also had a passion for music.
He valued hard work, honesty, and family. To his children, he was loving but fair. He made sure to instill his values in them as well as the importance of being a role model to his grandchildren.
On May 6, 2022, Noel went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his sons Wayne, Omar and Akeem Manhertz; brothers, sisters, grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased Noel was his son O'Neil Manhertz and his parents.
