Reflections of a Great Man

Nelson Harold Jones (known as Doc) was born on August 12, 1948, in Miami Florida (Brownsville area) to the late Harold and Mildred Jones. At a young age, Doc accepted Christ as a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, he continued his walk with God at the Miami Gardens Church of Christ. After graduating from Miami Jackson Senior High in 1966. He attended Miami Dade College, he was drafted into the US Army in 1969. After his tour of duty, he began his employment at Jackson Memorial Hospital (supervisor of X-ray). In 1982 he began   employment at the Veterans Association Hospital, and later transferred to The US Postal Services and retired in 2013.
Doc was a fun, kind-hearted, loving person with a quick wit resulting in various nicknames for those he loved. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, fishing, traveling, and going to different casinos. Doc was well-loved and respected by all.

He leaves to cherish his memories; A devoted wife of 46 years; Carolyn Jones; two sons; Nelson (Shydi) and Stephen. Brother; Harold Jr. (Evone). One sister-in-law Bertha; and three brothers-in-law; Ronnie; Joseph and Cedric. Goddaughter; Chavess Dennis. Two special friends Len; and Ms. Helen. Four grandchildren; Amber; Christian; Cayenne; and Cody. Two brothers Oliver (Edna); Kenneth and one sister Greathel Edwards who preceded him in death; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
