Nelson Ricardo Green was born on February 4, 1953, in the city of brotherly love Philadelphia, PA.

The son of Catherine Green (a single mother) and youngest of three siblings Clayton Holmes and Beverly Holmes.

Nelson was enlisted into the military at the age of 16 during the Vietnam War and served 15 years in United States Army.

After his military career, he moved to Miami, FL to start a new life and continued his service in the Miami VA Medical Center and United States Postal Service.

After an early retirement he devoted his life to his only son John Green and became a godfather to Ms. Shelia Gomez's children Joshua Gomez, Jennifer Gomez and         Jeremiah Gomez.

He was known for his great generosity and his love for family. Everyone remembers him for all the laughter and thoughtfulness of helping others.
