Goodbyes hurt the most when the story was not quite finished. The story of Nakia Chanay Hannibal began in Miami, Florida on the 17th day of December in the year of 2000. Nakia was born at Deering Hospital of Richmond Heights; she entered the world at 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 18 inches. Huldred Hannibal and LaToya J. Palmer shared the sentiment " For all the things my hands have held, the best by far was you, my beautiful baby girl".

Nakia was affectionately known as "Kia" and did not miss out on any childhood fairy tales; she ran and played amongst the Miami breeze with a host of family and friends. Her infectious smile won the hearts of all. She was given a brown teddy bear as a gift from a neighbor; Teddy became his name and she adored him. Teddy was probably the first to be given a makeover. Kia was a "girly- girl" most often found playing with makeup, heels, and hair. Being a natural creative, Kia would melt and mix beauty products to invent her own facial and body care remedies. As she grew, a fun-filled pastime became a full-blown passion.

Kia received her education in the Broward County Public School system. She was a proud graduate of the Miramar Senior High School Patriots, Class of 2019. Kia was an avid member of the Dream Sister club; her desire to participate was endless as she thoroughly enjoyed the activities and travel.  She continued her education at Sheridan Technical College, studying to become a licensed Cosmetologist, Nail Specialist, and Makeup Artist. She aspired to make everyone "Lovely" like herself.

Kia  best shared her fun loving spirit through her clever Tik-Tok videos, Facebook, and Instagram posts; she shared her silly side and crazy facial expressions and most definitely her captivating pictures. She loved the latest fashions and most of all WIGS—EVERY COLOR AND EVERY STYLE!

Kia, like all of us, was a visitor to this TIME and the PLACE. She was just passing through and fulfilling her purpose. She OBSERVED; She GREW; She LEARNED; and she LOVED; and now she has returned home. She leaves to cherish her memories: Mother, LaToya Palmer, Father Huldred Hannibal, sister, Yaniece Lightner, Nephew Kyrie Brown, Grandparents James and Sandra Palmer, Aunts Tamia Palmer, Ashley Stackhouse, Robin Hannibal, and Ghana Hannibal; Uncles Javon Bethel and Carlton Moore, a Special Cousins Lorenzo Jones, Washington, D.C. and Naeyana McNear, and a host of other sorrowing family, friends, and loved ones.
