Ms.Patricia
Johnson
May 23, 1956 — May 17, 2023
Miami
Ye, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me……..Psalm 23:4
Patricia "Pat" Johnson was born on May 23, 1956, in Miami, Florida, to the union of the late Overseer Jeria L. Johnson and Minister Odis Johnson. She received her education in the Miami-Dade County Public School System, graduating from Miami Carol City Senior High School, Class of 1974.
At a young age, Patricia accepted Christ while attending The House of God, The Gates of Heaven, The Church of The Living God, with Mother Anna Stephenson as Pastor and Overseer. In 1986, as an adult, Pat joined of the Royal Assembly of Jesus Christ Pentecostal, Inc. under the direction of Pastor/Overseer Jeria L. Johnson and remained a dedicated and faithful member until God called her home.
Pat pursued a career in healthcare that lasted over 30 years where she faithfully served the communities of Maimi-Dade and Broward counties. She held certifications as Medical Assistant and Nursing Assistant, securing employment with Parkway Regional Medical Center as a CNA, and utilizing her Medical Assistant certification at one of the pioneer HMO's in Miami-Dade County, International Medical Center (IMC). She made a career shift in 1990 and took employment with Kids In Distress (KID), Broward County, as a House Parent, in support of abused, injured and/or neglected children, retiring in 2010. She spent many years volunteering with Stop Hunger, Inc. of North Miami, FL., where she assisted in the distribution of food to those in need and continued her community service by working tirelessly helping in her church's food outreach program.
Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family, talking with friends, road trips, and watching TV game shows. She found joy in listening to gospel music and she was a dedicated devotional leader in the church. Although she had no children of her own, she was a good aunt to her nieces and nephews and was always there if they when they needed her. Patricia's legacy is her unwavering devotion to her family, friends, church, and community. Her memory is cherished by all who knew her. Pat was a real character, never a dull moment! She will set you straight if needed and then feed you a great meal. You will not win in a screaming match! She will get the last word and gen go watch her television program. Her laughter would brighten a room on any given day.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: two sisters, Deloris Meadows of Miami Gardens, Florida, and Adrian Samuels of Illinois; two brothers, James Johnson (Janice) of Miami Gardens, Florida, and Willie Johnson (Barbara) of High Point, North Carolina. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, extended family and church family.
