MILTON ROBINSON CLARKE was born at the Black River Hospital St. Elizabeth, Jamaica W.I. on May 15, 1953. He was the first of 5 boys to the late Edward Robinson Clarke and Sybil Mae Clarke (nee Sampson). He attended Black River primary before going to Monroe College and Cornwall College. After graduation he went to live with cousins in New York, where he worked and attended classes to qualify himself in computer programming. On his return to Jamaica, he worked at British American in Kingston before securing a job at the bauxite company, Alpart in Nain, St. Elizabeth working on main frame computers. He would later work at Mutual Life in Kingston Jamaica again working on computer programming.

It was while at Alpart that in 1976 he suffered a near fatal injury where he broke his neck in a car accident. This required months in the University Hospital and Mona Rehabilitation Center where he had to learn basic skills to walk, talk, eat, write again. His mother (now deceased) kept a watchful eye on him and slept in a chair by his bed almost every day for months. It's not an event that he liked talking about and he relayed it to his wife only once in enough detail to have it embedded in her memory. Milton's recovery was so remarkable that years later at a social event he saw the head nurse that attended to him at the University Hospital. She recognized him, kept shaking her head and said that " his recovery from the accident defied all science". After he recovered, he lived and worked in Kingston and during the late 70s met his neighbor, Cheryl Johnson who he married in December 1982.

A failed business venture necessitated his wife going to live and work as a teacher in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Milton followed with their son in a few months, but was unable to secure a job so he migrated to the United States where he worked in various jobs before joining the Broward County Transit. Milton started as a bus driver, and worked his way up to Superintendent of Transportation, a position he held until his accident on June 18, 2022.

After the birth of his second son, the family lived together again in South Florida for nearly 30 years where he could   often be seen walking his dog, jogging in the park, and tending to his garden. The family attended the Parkway Baptist Church in Miami Gardens, Florida where Milton was baptized and   became a member. Milton worked hard and was diligent in whatever he did, not just in work but also in trying  to keep the family fit and healthy. He died on December 12, 2022 just one day after his 40th wedding anniversary and one day before his granddaughter's 1st birthday.

Milton also known as Mr. Clarke, Milton, Dad, Daddy, Pancho, Boots, Milt, Grandpa, Guy, Uncle Milton is survived by his wife Cheryl, sons Peter & Cleorinda (nee Gordon), and Adrian & d'Shante (nee Smith) and granddaughter Capri as well as the extended family gained through our daughters-in-law. Also left to mourn his loss are his brothers Donald, Phillip and Richard, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and their respective families, co-workers, friends and church family.
