In Miami, Florida on July 14, 1972, Terry C. Reid and Andrew Houser celebrated the birth of their newborn baby son, Michael Andrew Houser Reid. Michael the youngest of five was quiet in nature but spoke loudly with his loving and caring character.

Michael was educated through the public school system of Miami Dade County. He was a proud "Red Raider" of the 1989 graduating class of Miami Edison Sr. High School. After graduation Michael attended Barry University where he majored in Business Administration.

Michael secured employment with the Kelly's Caterpillar organization where he worked with heavy machines and equipment. Michael having worked at Kelly's for over 25 plus years had an abnormal love for his co-workers and his job. "Abnormal" because he looked forward to going to work and being with his work family each and every day. As a matter of fact, Michael had to be forced to take "earned days off".

Even though Michael was a quiet and private person, he was well liked by those who were privileged to have a personal relationship with him.

Michael loved his family and shared a special bond with his sister Debra and her children. Michael loved helping others, even though introverted Michael would go the extra mile "to help a brother out". He was known for his beautiful smile, his kind acts of generosity and his efforts to explore every avenue available to bring solution to another's struggle.

Anyone who knew Michael, knew he loved his "Dolphins". Michael was interested in anything that involved the Dolphins. In addition to his Dolphins, Michael got much joy out of "just watching TV".

On August 9th after a relatively short illness Michael transitioned from "life to life eternal". Waiting to embrace his arrival to the "land of no more" were his parents, his mother Terry Reid, his father Andrew Houser, his uncles: Theodore, Johnny, Earl and Darwin Fordham all who preceded him in death.

Those Left to cherish his life here on earth are his two brothers: Gary and Dwight Reid; four sisters: Linda Reid, Debra Reid Dingle, Michelle Houser and Tawana Clement; five nieces Chelsea Owanikin, Amanda Lawson, Shakiera (Bransha) Haskins, Jessica Reid and Felicia Thomas; one nephew Jordan Owanikin; three aunts: Alma (Alonzo)Dees, Annie Washington and Deloris Cotton; five uncles Alan (Voncia) Fordham, Charles Fordham, Randy Fordham, Reggie Fordham, and Tyrone Fordham; and a host of sorrowing cousins and friends.

Today our hearts are heavy and our eyes have been washed with tears, we solicit your continued prayers for our family during this very difficult time. We are blessed and somewhat comforted at the thought that there are family and friend who are still praying for us.
