Mervin Larry Williams was born on March 30, 1948. In  Miami, FL, to the late Donishua and Cleo Williams. He was the youngest of nine children. He was proceeded in death by two (2) brothers: Johnnie Williams and Andrew Williams. One (1) sister Barbra Jean Williams.

Mervin accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. Stephens A.M.E church of Carol City. He faithfully served in several auxiliaries within the church until his health began to decline.

Mervin attended school in Dade County. He graduated from Carol City Sr. High, Class of 1966. He attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo. After his return to Miami, he began working for Florida East Coast Railroad until his  retirement. He then decided to return to Miami Dade Jr.  College to continue his education received his degree. Mervin enjoyed tinkering with cars, traveling and being a role model to the younger generation. He also found pleasure in spending valuable time with his immediate and extended family.

On Saturday May 14, 2022, Mervin answered the final roll call and departed this earthly place to join loved ones that has relocated to the heavenly mansion before him.

He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy, five sons: Mario L. Williams, Ervin L. Fort (Nadine), Anthony Trotter, Marlon Williams, and Murphy Williams; two daughters Mystique Williams-Simmons and Lakisha C. Floyd (Christopher).  Lifetime partner, Elizabeth Blue; four sisters: Marine Stokes, Lorene Melvin, Mary Strong and Marva Anderson; one brother, Roy Williams; two sisters-in-law Shirley Williams and Eulateen Williams; eleven grand -children: Maegan Williams, Avianca McQuay, Andre Williams Sr, Alyssa Fort, Mario Williams Jr., Isaiah Fort, Freda Floyd, Dylan Fort, Christopher Floyd II, Malia Floyd and Roial Trotter; three great-grandchildren: Andre Williams Jr., Arianna Williams, and Alani Wiliams; Godsons: Devin Jones, Oliver Clark, Omari Johnson and one Goddaughter, Lasharne Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
