In Loving Memory of
Kenrick Anthony Thompson
Sunrise: [March 15, 1990] Sunset: [May 1, 2025]

Kenrick Anthony Thompson, born in Clarendon, Jamaica, to Sonia Gayle and the late Patrick Thompson, who unfortunately passed before Kenrick's birth.   Kenrick passed away peacefully after a lifelong battle with sickle cell anemia. He was 35 years old. Though he never met his father, Kenrick inherited his quiet strength, hands-on brilliance, and deep resolve.

Kenrick was raised in St. Catherine, Jamaica, with the loving care of his grandparents (Evret and Millicent Thompson), who nurtured him from infancy. He began his education at Spanish Town Infant School, continued at Eltham Primary School, and later attended Eltham High School. His grandmother, a guiding force in his life, ensured he was grounded in both education and faith—making Sunday church at Glad Tidings Open Bible a regular part of his upbringing.

Kenrick had a natural talent for fixing and building. From electronics and computers to his car, he was gifted with a mind that constantly sought to understand and improve the world around him.

He moved to the United States in his teenage years, where he briefly attended Miami Dade College and later entered the work world.  Before his passing, he was actively pursuing business ventures, driven by a desire to build something of his own, while holding a position in security at Williams Island Condos. He worked hard, quietly and steadily, just like he lived.

Despite the challenges of chronic illness, Kenrick lived with grace and resilience. For much of his life, his grandmother stood by him as his fiercest protector and constant companion, particularly through his most difficult health battles.

The past four years brought Kenrick profound happiness when he met the love of his life, Therese Waight. Their bond was deep and steadfast-built on loyalty, laughter, travel, dreams, and unconditional love. With Therese, Kenrick experienced some of his most peaceful and healthiest years, a testament to their powerful connection. She remained faithfully by his side until the very end.

Kenrick will be remembered for his calm spirit, quiet strength, problem-solving mind, and unwavering loyalty to family and loved ones. He was a gentle soul who left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved grandparents; his devoted partner; his birth mother and a host of family and friends who cherished him deeply.

Kenrick is now reunited with the father he never met and rests in the eternal embrace of his Creator.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life lived with love, courage, and quiet dignity.

"May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his memory be a blessing."
