Sister Karweemah Harkeem was born on December 15, 1926 in Jackson County, Marianna, Florida. She was the oldest of 10 children of Ethel Daniels and raised by her grandmother and grandfather Jet Lee Russ Daniels and Charlie Daniels.  Karweemah went to elementary and junior high school where she had a love for sewing. She married Waley Harkeem and relocated to New York City and became a professional seamstress.

While living in New York City she join the Nation of Islam under the leadership of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. She was very active in the Mosque and loved writing plays and producing shows. The Nation of Islam was her life and she became a devoted member for over 50 years. After many years living in New York she moved to Miami, Florida and pursured a career as a nurse's assistant until she retired.

Sister Karweemah is survived by her children Lateefah (Betty) Martin, Arleyah Martin, Betty Lawrence (James Lawrence), Margaret Holt, and son, Jaleel Harkeem. Grandchildren Kevin Smith (Donna Smith) Fatima Jones, Angelique Smith, Keisha Smith, Alicia Bodie-Henry, (Paul Henry) Michelle Bodie, Nial Martin, Adrial Martin, Janel Holt. Great Grands Gabrielle Bodie-Massey, Adora Daley, Olivia Smith, Cristina Henry and Adonis Martin. Great Great Grands Shiloh Daley, Hezekiah Daley: Sister, Victoria McGill (Wilson McGill) Brothers, Oscar Jones, Preston Jones (Georgia Jones) Wiley Jones (Vivian Jones): Caretaker Ziya Muhammad, as well as a host of relatives and dear friends.
