Obituary

On November 26th, 2021, the Lord called our beloved Sister Joan home to Glory while she was asleep at Jackson North Hospital. Some may sob, some may cry, some may even ask the Lord why. But don't they know my soul needs rest. And that my Lord, Jesus Christ knows best. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" II Timothy 4:7 Joan Williams was born on November 28, 1949, in Tower Hill, St. Andrews, Jamacia to the late Ralph and Alma Melbourne.  She was one of 12 siblings born into this union. Five of her siblings have preceded her in death.

After graduating from Tower Hill All Age School, Joan left Jamacia to live in the Bahamas in route to Miami, Florida. In 1976, she established residency in Miami, Florida. In that same year Joan obtained a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She immediately obtained gainful employment in Miami Beach, Florida. After 30 plus years, she retired.

She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy where she regularly attended service until her health failed.

Today, Joan leaves to mourn a loving and dedicated son, Mr. Travis Williams; a daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline McIntosh; two grandchildren, Mr. Stephen and Ms. Deidra McIntosh.  She also leaves to mourn Ms. Sylvia Carter, a longtime friend for over 60 years; and five brothers, one sister, three sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
