Jewell Clifford Williams (aka "JC") was born Tuesday, February 24, 1942, in Monticello, Florida to the late Matthew Williams Sr. and Pinkie Raines Williams. "JC" was the second child of five siblings Matthew, Alma, Annette and brother Kenneth who preceded him in early years. Jewell was raised into a family full of the love of God and at a young age was baptized and converted to religion at the Old Greenville Methodist Church. He was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System where he graduated from Howard Academy High School in 1961. During "JC's" senior year at Howard Academy he played football and became an outstanding running back for his team. After graduation Jewell worked various jobs until he was inducted into the United States Army. He served his country with pride for two years earning him a honorable discharge. After returning home from his military service Jewell met the love of his life Shirley Temple Soloman and her four beautiful daughters. Jewell and Shirley were married on October 25, 1967, and relocated to Miami, Florida. Jewell was a devoted, dedicated and determined husband. He and Shirley shared a home with their girls and enjoyed a life of love, joy and the normal struggles of life. While residing in Miami "JC" worked for Associated Grocers for a short period of time and then became a professional truck driver. Jewell was a hard worker driving for various companies, sometimes dually employed a real trooper and true provider for his wife and family. The couple shared a sure passion and a warm 32 years of marriage; until Shirley's passing in the Spring of May1999. Their romance was truly a love of their own. Throughout the years Jewell also earned the title of  "Grandaddy" and "Papa Jewell".  Grandaddy Jewell was a wonderful grandfather to a total of 85 grands, great-grands and great great-grand including his first grandson Willie C. Woodson (preceded in death), a beacon of love to all. Jewell's legacy will never be forgotten as his name will reign as an honor to his family through his handsome grandson's Tommie "Clifford" (grand) and Elijah "Jewell" (great-grand).

Harrell (Eugene) of Miami Gardens, FL, Diane P. Green of Jacksonville, FL, Cathy T. Johnson (Harold) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Beverly M. Summerson of Richmond, VA. Grandchildren Vincent E. Woodson (Carla) of Jacksonville, FL, Deonna L. Smith (Harry) of Kent, WA, Tommie C. Callahan of Atlanta, GA, Angelia L. Hosten (Lionel) of Miramar, FL, Latasha D. Nelson (Albert) of Jacksonville, FL and Jamaal A. Summerson (Shawnee) of Marietta, GA. In addition, Jewell leaves as total of Thirty-seven (37) great-grands, Forty-one (41) great great-grands and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family & friends.
