Command Sergeant Major, Harry "BO" Stanfield, Jr. (Ret) a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on March 9, 2022.

Harry was born on October 20, 1946, to Bessie and Harry Stanfield in Pensacola, Florida.  Most of the people who knew him would call Harry by the name "Bo", a nickname that stuck with him since childhood.  Bo graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1964.  At the age of 18 he entered active duty for the United States Army in July of 1964.  While stationed at Fort Drum, Watertown, New York, Bo met and married Judy Harden (deceased), the love of his life in 1966.  They became the proud parents of their daughter, Joy in 1974.

A few of Bo's numerous assignments while on active duty included, Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Battalion Aid Station, 25 ^th Infantry Division, Vietnam; Chief Wardmaster Surgical Nursing, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii; 101 ^st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Kentucky; Command Sergeant Major, 25 ^th Medical Battalion, 25 ^th Infantry Division (Light), 25 ^th Infantry Division (Light) in Hawaii; and Command Sergeant Major of Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora Colorado where he retired from active service in 1994.

Bo received an abundance of awards while proudly serving his country, including the Legion of Merit, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal with Three Campaign Stars, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Field Medical Badge, Order of Military Medical Merit, Military Order of Saint Barbara, and the Army Medical Department Regimental Award of Excellence.

In 1994, post active duty with the US Army, Bo began a new career as an Army Instructor for the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program (JROTC) at Miami Carol City Senior High School.  He was selected as the high school's "Rookie" Teacher of the Year after his first-year teaching in 1995.  He was also the high school's golf coach.  His female golf team won the district tournament and competed at the State level in 1999.   He retired in 2013.

Bo was a devoted Catholic, an avid golfer (with numerous holes-in-one), and a self-proclaimed amateur comedian.  He famously had a joke for every occasion and was always the life of the party.  His big smile could light up any room.

He supported numerous charities and was a loyal member of many organizations including, 2UP Golf Club of Miami, Inc., VFW Post 8195, and Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Council 6032.

Bo is survived by his daughter, Joy and Anthony Richiez, his son-in-law, Chaz Williams, nephew, whom he was guardian, his sisters, Elizabeth Gates and Cathryn Stanfield, and was brother to Michael Stanfield (deceased).  Bo LOVED his entire family and was especially proud of all his nieces and nephews.
