It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eugennie Hilora Dawes who entered eternal rest on March 27, 2025, at the age of eighty-seven. Born on May 27, 1937, in Springfield, Mount Hanna in the parish of Hanover, Jamaica, she was the youngest of seven siblings.

Eugennie was a woman of unwavering faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her life was a testament to devotion - devotion to God, to family, and all those blessed to know her. She was a cherished Sister to Meralis, Noami, Cassylyn, Rupert, Hicks Hugh and Etton; a devoted wife to Algernon Dawes; a loving mother to Eric, Junior, Marcia, Paul, Fritzgerald and Dwight; a proud grandmother to Alexcia, EJ, Zahwa, Zahiyah, Xiomora, Jazz, Kadeem, Ashley, Akeem, Olivia, Ella-Grace and Aliyah; and a joyful great-grandmother to Aziza, Janeil, Jadon and Joshua.

Gifted with her hands and a heart full of grace, she was known for her beautiful crocheting and embroidery - each piece stitched with care and love. Eugennie leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and compassion. Her love was a quiet strength, her prayers a guiding light, and her presence a blessing.
