Eugene Osmond Walwyn Sr. was born to Oretha Audrey Walwyn and Ezekiel Elvin (STEM) Bailey. He was raised by his grandparents, Rupert and Lillian Walwyn, alongside numerous siblings and cousins on Walwyn Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts. The children naturally learned construction skills as Rupert Walwyn, a Contractor, had built a 10-bedroom home to raise his grandchildren. There, the children would learn discipline, decency, and financial responsibility.  As a child, Eugene honed his skills in construction but as a teen he became the person his grandparents would turned to for financial advice. He developed a reputation in the home as a boy who "Never spent a bad penny."

Because of his unique math skills, Eugene was selected as a Prefect (student teacher) at the Basseterre Junior High School in St. Kitts. He fostered many lifelong relationships.  One of these relationships was his good friend, cousin and "brother" Dr. Irvin Sweeney. Eugene left the Island of St. Kitts at the age of 20. He migrated to St. Croix in search of opportunity. He became an accountant after working up the ranks at Ann Abramson Enterprises. There he met another lifelong friend Police Commissioner Franz "Buffy" Christian and many others. Eugene opened Commercial Accounting and Tax Services alongside his friend Verona and later created additional businesses in the community of Frederiksted.

While visiting family in St. Thomas, Eugene met the love of his life Esterlyn Joseph. Esterlyn would accept his proposal and the two were united in marriage on St. Croix. This marriage united the Joseph, Willock and Walwyn Families. Esterlyn provided the stability, courage, focus, love and support that sustained him throughout the years.

As an international entrepreneur and philanthropist Eugene returned to St. Kitts and Nevis to operate a restaurant that sourced food from the local farmers and promoted the consumption of locally produced food. He    operated an air cargo service between St. Kitts/Nevis and the USVI, with the aim of assisting farmers in St. Kitts to export food to turn a profit. He supported and sponsored numerous projects in St. Kitts and Nevis that focused on the development of the Federation's young people. He was always generous in assisting family or strangers seeking assistance.

Eugene was deeply involved in the Peoples Action Movement (PAM) Party in St. Kitts. He would engage in philanthropy by sending food and goods to the St. Johnson's Methodist Church on St. Kitts on a yearly basis. He started working with the Amusement Park in the U.S. Virgin Islands and would travel the Eastern Caribbean bringing joy and happiness to the different Islands during Carnival time.

Carnival time was always a special treat for his family and as usual everyone could count on Eugene. Cars were readily available during carnival time. Tickets for your friends to ride the latest attractions and of course ice cream, soda, candy and cookies at his booth. His many business endeavors in St. Kitts and the USVI became the catalyst by which many who aspired, would learn business and entrepreneurship. Eugene helped Individuals obtain U.S. citizenship and passports free of cost. He would provide hope to those who sought to better themselves through mentorship and providing employment opportu nities.

In 2005, Eugene suffered a stroke that would leave him disabled but he continued to persevere.  Over the next 17 years he would continue his legacy. His new life would unfold as he mentored his children and ushered in a legacy of teamwork, philanthropy and entrepreneurship.

Eugene was kind and inclusive to numerous people. He has lived a full life and has grown closer to God during his second chance. He was a loving and supportive husband to his wife Esterlyn. His children: Eugene Walwyn Jr., Dr. Emron O. Walwyn Sr., Ezmon Walwyn, Ericson Walwyn and Yameiri Rodriguez would later continue his   vision for business achievement. He spent his last years raising his grandchildren and making memories. He would enjoy going to Disney, movie nights, attending Esterlyn's House events and being Grandpa. His legacy of business will continue through Merchants and Culture, Walwyn Transport and Florida Supportive care. He will be missed but with his legacy of philanthropy will continue through the Eugene Walwyn Scholarship via Esterlyn's house nonprofit.
