Esmie Evadne Moffatt was born on 14 February 1950 in Arcacia, Parish of St. Elizabeth Jamaica, to Parents Wilfred Wright and Kathleen Thomas. Esmie is the third of nine children born to this union. She attended and graduated from Niagra All Age School. After graduation she pursued Seamstress and other crafts, such as knitting and crochet. She met and married the love of her life, Basil Moffatt in December 1971. Together they had two children, Sharon and Derrick.
The family moved to Montego Bay, Jamaica and worked there for many years. She had the opportunity to work in the Grand Caymans Island for a few years then returned to Jamaica to join her family once more. She later migrated to the United States in 1992 and lived in Miami, Florida. Her husband passed away in 1995. Esmie moved to Atlanta, Georgia and lived there for four years, but she returned to Miami where she lived until her passing on 25th August, 2021.
Emsie enjoyed spending time in the kitchen preparing meals for her children, grandchildren and neighbor. Another one of her greatest joy was to fellowship with the people of God. She attended most services, bible study and participated in all church activities

She is survived by her children, Sharon and Derrick; son -in-law Cleveland Plummer, her mother Mrs. Kathleen Wright of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica; Brothers, Basil Wright & Devon Wright; Sisters Winsome Samuels & Icie Gayle (Jamaica) Keitha Davis (The UK), sister Hyacinth Wright (Grand Cayman Island), Vinnette O'Connor, & Elieth Wright, (Maryland, USA). Five Grandchildren: Anna Moffatt, Samuel Moffatt, Odain Moffatt, Dimetri Moffatt, Cordel Plummer. Four Great-grand: Ashanique, Ashley, Valentinea, Annea; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
