On January 6, 1958, Ernest Hall was born in Miami, FL the fourth of ten children, to the late Julius & Delia Mae Hall. He was educated in the public schools of Miami-Dade County, attending Frank C. Martin Elementary, Richmond Heights Junior High and graduating from     Miami Killian  Senior High in 1976.  After Graduation, he enrolled in Lane College in Jackson, TN.

He went on to enlist in The United States Army in 1978       stationed at Fort Campbell. His military career led him to serve honorably in Korea, Germany, New Mexico, and a host of other locations.  He achieved the ranking of Staff Sergeant (E-6) upon his honorable discharge in 1992. After which, he returned home to Richmond Heights.

Ernest went on to work for the Daily Bread Food Bank and then the United States Postal Service of Miami where he retired as a supervisor in 2021. He also dedicated much of his time to the community of Richmond Heights coaching the youth football team Richmond Perrine Giants. When he was not offering his time to others, he would retreat to the trail or any creek that was offering the best catch of the day, then on Van Buren under his carport cleaning and cooking his catch of the day.

Ernest, also known as "Ernie", was a man of values and standards. He believed in working hard and being accountable for all actions good or bad. He never spoke one word that wasn't delivered from his heart. If you ever had the opportunity to sit and talk with him, you know what we mean. He had an infectious laugh and presence that drew people in, making him a stranger to no one, and loved by so many. He was a family man, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, therapist, and anything else that he needed to be to help anyone in need.

He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted wife Tonya Hall, children (Earnest Mosley Jr., Anton Mosley, Earnesha Mosley, Jalil Coleman); his second wife Caroline Hall (preceded in death), son (Larry Chavers); his first wife Emily Hall (preceded in death), children (Shaneka & Duwayne (Jasmine) Hall); Grandchildren: James Hall,  Kiara Chavers, Larry Chavers, Jr., Earnest Mosley (EJ), Aniyah Augustine, Andre Wilcox Jr., Adrian Mosley,    Andrevia Wilcox, Asia Mosley, Amani Mosley, Amora Wilcox; Brothers & Sisters: Mary Howell, Rosemary Lewis, Julia Boynton, Luther Hall (preceded in death), Carol (Moses) Conyers, Alexander (Sandra) Hall, Marietta (Robert) Hall, Cornelius Hall and Edward (Tasha) Hall. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, and those within the VanBu tribe.
