Obituary

Eloise Johnson was born on January 27, 1930 in Ft Pierce, Florida, she was the last of four children born to the late John Henry Dean and Lillian Pratt. After relocating to Miami in her teens she completed her education at DA Dorsey High School in 1949.

Eloise was baptized and received Christ in her life 41 years ago and became a faithful member of Jesus People Ministries Church International where she served for 36 years. During her time at JPMCI she served on various ministries, however one ministry named in her honor "The Food and Clothing Ministry" made her the proudest. Affectionately known as Mother Johnson by her church members she was honored to become a Deaconess where she served for many years. She also served on the hospitality committee where she contributed to many prayer breakfasts, and served to the late Bishop Isiah S. Williams, Jr and visiting pastors.

Throughout Eloise's life she always exhibited a strong work ethic and was very dedicated to serving her community and church. No matter what the task or assignments were, she worked many jobs however, working as a Social Worker for J.E.S.C.A was one of the most rewarding to her. She served her community by ensuring that her "daycare mothers" homes were up to state regulations for over 30 years. As time approached for Eloise to retire she realized that she was not fully ready to embark on the retired life therefore she transitioned to assisting in daycare centers until early 2019 where she retired.

As God would have it and like any other parent, Eloise was the proud parent of four children, one son and three daughters, all of whom she would move mountains for. While Eloise loved all her grands, great grands and great great grands unconditionally, her great grands Joshua, Brianna, Taylor and Ashley who were the apples of her eyes.On December 20th her mission was accomplished, well done my faithful servant.

She was married to the late Willie Johnson and was the proud mother of Robert Nichols Jr.and Brenda Nichols and grandmother to Karen Nichols, Cedric Nichols and Kevin Johnson, Sr who all preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her daughters Delores Dianne Johnson and Lejean Evette Johnson. Grandchildren: Deatrick Nichols(LaWanda), Robert Nichols III, Derrick Nichols (Michelle), Dondre Jasper, Bridget Nichols, Sharon Nichols, Robbie Nichols, Katreva Hampton-Young (Harvey), Katonya Hampton, Vernisa Johnson and Deidra Hampton-Allen (Lebron). Forty great grandchildren, thirty three great great grandchildren. Nieces: Jacqueline Johnson, Sandra Dean, nephew Rudolph Hutchins and host of cousins, coworkers, church members, and friends.
