On Monday, May 9, 2022, Doris Patricia Scott Henry, departed this life at the age of 72. Doris was born on July 11, 1949 in Seminola, Florida. She was the ninth of ten children born to Harold Clinton and Anne Mae Scott. At an early age, it was clear that Doris was smart, fiery, and quick-witted. She was a natural born leader, teacher, and communicator. Doris received her elementary and secondary education in the Miami-Dade County Public School System. She attended James Weldon Johnson Elementary, Miami Dorsey Junior High School, and Miami Springs High School where she excelled academically and socially. She was precocious, curious, engaging, and fun-loving. Doris had two children, Jimmie and Chris with her first husband.

On December 20, 1992, Doris was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lesly Henry, Jr., the love of her life. Doris and Lesly's love of health, nature, spirituality, travel and family led them on annual pilgrimages to Haiti, Lesly's place of birth.

Doris' professional career included longtime service to and subsequent retirement from the Levitz Furniture Store as a saleswoman and an executive assistant. In her next career, she provided employment education and placement opportunities for recently released inmates and people with disabilities.

Doris was an active soul seeming to get younger, more beautiful, and more royal as the years passed. She loved dancing, singing, reading, learning, being outside, climbing trees, picking mangoes and avocados, walking, bike riding, talking with her sisters, and cooking. Her infectious smile, mesmerizing eyes, restless thinking, and indomitable spirit combined with her love of people, music, food, and health made her an endless resource and healing force for anyone who listened and was willing to do the work. When someone was discouraged, uncertain, angry, or unhealthy, Doris would always make them feel better and be (or do) better.

Doris leaves to honor her legacy: her loving husband, Lesly Henry, Jr.; two sons, Dr. Jimmie Davis, Jr.  (Dr. Shairi Turner-Davis) of Tallahassee and Michael "Chris" Davis of Orlando; two grandchildren, Khari Davis and Aaliyah Davis of Tallahassee; three sisters: Wilhelmena "Bobbie" Ford of Miami, Jeanette McCormick (Fred) of Ocala, and Constance Saunders of Miami; two brothers: Harold Scott (Edna) and James Scott of Miami; a father-in-law: Lesly "Papi" Henry, Sr. of Miami; three sisters-in-law: Jhaislaine Cave (Alix) of Davie, Jocelyn Cameau (Clevans) of Jupiter, Carlie Hartmon (Ron) of Pembroke Pines, a brother-in-law: Kiou Henry of Miami, former spouse Jimmie Davis, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
