Denise Michelle Tarpley was born in Miami, Florida on November 16, 1960, to
Ollis and Albertha Tarpley at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was the oldest
sibling of five. She attended Miami Carol City Sr. High where she played the
saxophone for the Marching Chiefs. She proudly displayed her "Chief Pride" as
a member of the marching band throughout her freshman to senior year. Upon
graduation in 1976, Denise earned a music scholarship and attended Bethune
Cookman College where she became the school's marching bands' first
female in concert as a saxophone player as well as studied Criminal Justice.
She later pursued a career as a Data Entry Clerk.

Denise's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a member of
Love Outreach Ministries for Christ. She dedicated her services in the ministry of
music as she would minister using her powerful voice.

On July 14, 2021, Denise Tarpley was called to her Eternal Home. Receiving her
in heaven is her mother Albertha Tarpley, sister Judith "Judy", and sister Monise
"Delta".

She leaves to cherish precious memories of her: Father: Ollis Tarpley; Daughter:
Precious Joy Tarpley; Grandchildren: Ree'al "Jamal", James Jr., Adam "Malik"
Sisters: Carla Riley (Terrance) and Olliscia "Lisa" Tarpley; Uncle: Martin (Maria),
