Deaconess Mary E. Gause Taylor was born on October 16, 1946 in Loris Hoeey County, South Carolina to the late Emmanuel and Elvie Gause.

Mary received her early education in South Carolina.  In 1958 the family relocated to Miami, FL where she attended Bethune Elementary, Brownville Jr. High, and graduated from Miami Northwestern Sr. High-Home of the Mighty Bulls.

Mary accepted Jesus at an early age while attending Holy Redeemer Holiness Church in Liberty City under the leadership of Elder West.  As a teenager, she served on the Usher Board at Antioch Baptist Church on 46 ^th Street under the leadership of Rev. Stephenson.

In 1966 while Mary was walking in the park with her sisters, a young baseball player by the name of Israel a.k.a. Jimmy approached her.  He was immediately smitten by the mere essence of her beauty.  After a few years of dating, she gave Israel an ultimatum.  One week after Mary a.k.a Red gave Jimmy the ultimate ultimatum, the two were united as one in Holy Matrimony on June 27, 1970.  They were inseparable and they traveled the world together.  Mary truly loved her husband and her children.  They did everything together; they had a great life.

The family later moved to Carol City and joined First Baptist Church of Bunche Park under the leadership of Rev. Billy Baskin.  During Mary's tenure here, she sang in the choir and served as a Young Matron.  In 1986, after a change in leadership, Mary moved her membership to Metropolitan M.B. Church under Rev. I.H. Readon.

On December 4, 1991, Holy Faith M.B. Church was formed under the leadership of Rev. Gregory Williams where Mary was one of the founding members.  She was a faithful servant; she enjoyed walking to bible study and singing in the church choir.  Sis. Mary later became a Deaconess serving alongside her husband as well as serving on the Mother's Board.

Mary's employment career began with domesticated work at various hotels on Miami Beach.  She later went on to work at the Luminaire Factory before becoming employed with NYC, a temporary agency at the neighborhood youth center in 1969.  On April 8, 1969, Mary began her career with the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts working in the Records Center and Micrographics Department within her profession.  Throughout her tenure, Mary received countless awards including but not limited to her most prestigious "The Proclamation of Honorary Deputy Clerk".  In 1991 and with over twenty years of dedicated service, Mary accepted a well-deserved retirement from the Clerk of Courts.

Upon retirement, Mary and her husband relocated to their retirement home in Port St. Lucie, FL where they enjoyed the last years of their lives together.

On July 19, 2021, the Lord plucked his beautiful flower and Mary transitioned from labor to reward.  Mary and her husband Israel are at their eternal rest.

Left to cherish her life, love and legacy are her four devoted children: Eddie (Liz), Kimberly (Robert), Connie (Noah), and her baby girl Bridget; stepchildren: Samuel, Israel Jr, Patricia, and Kim Rosalyn; three sisters: Betty Thomas, Linda Royster, Wanda Gause; 7 grandchildren: Ya'Nette (Maurice), Andre, Eddie Jr, Tatiana, La'Vonte, Jasmyne, and Kymbriana; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, George Stanley; 3 god-daughters: Aiesha Ferguson-Thompkins, Virginia Flowers-Elvin, and Lisa Young; god-son Joel L. Ramsey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and many friends.

8 siblings preceded her in death: James Earl, Daniel, Howard, Thomas, EstherLee, Christine, Barbara Jean, and Mable.
