Cynthia May Walsh was born on August 14, 1932, in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies. She was the youngest daughter of Audrey Alberga and Arthur Ferguson. Cynthia grew up in the district of Walkers Wood St. Ann. She attended Walker's Wood Elementary School where she was an excellent student and artist.

In 1952 she met Nathaniel Walsh in Kingston, Jamaica. The couple later married in 1979. In May of 1988, Cynthia Walsh immigrated to the United States to join her children who began to settle in   Florida. Her husband Nathaniel and other children joined soon after. She was a woman who loved her children and cared deeply for their needs.

Cynthia had many talents and hobbies. Aside from being an artist, she was a great dancer and loved to pray. She was a woman who loved the Lord and sought him out daily for her family. Her favorite song was "Blessed Assurance." Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23. One of her favorite quotes she lived by was "through Christ I am able to do all things." Besides reading her bible, Cynthia was also very active. Even as her health declined she would still insist on taking long walks against her daughters' advice. She would say "nuttin wrong wid mi foot mek mi walk". Nothing could stop her from moving!

Cynthia had a captivating presence about her. She made friends wherever she went. She loved to be around people and they loved her the same. Everyone she encountered remembers her for her joyful spirit, cute voice, and infectious laughter. Time with family was her favorite, she loved to be in the presence of  her children and grandchildren. She was always ready to dance and enjoy a big plate of food. She loved to eat and cook her dumpling and banana, and a good bowl of soup. She would tell her grandchildren "yuh fi suck di fish head. It will gi yuh brains." Surrounded by her children is when she was the happiest. Cynthia Walsh was a full-time devoted mother to the end. She was intelligent, kind, meticulous, loving, a giver, caring, strong-willed, a planner, an artist, and a powerful woman of God. She will forever be remembered, thought of, loved, honored, and missed.

She left behind one sister and two brothers. Ten Children: Nerissa, Eric, Franklyn, Peter, Paul, Melva, Daniel, Hope, Carlton (Deceased), Barrington, and Natasha. Twenty-four grandchildren: Latoya, Miranda, Elijah, Isiah, Micah, Petrona, Monique, Miranda, Alicia, Venisha, Michael, Camile, Anita, Chantal, Montel, Aliyah, Sage, Ania, Demetri, Kitty, Trey, Monifa, Andrew, Tricia. Eleven great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Delsean, Amiyah, Silvan III, Faith,   Malia, Abagail, Alice, Makayla, Malaysia, Caleb, and a host of    cousins and friends. Cynthia will be greatly missed by all.
