Obituary

My Race Is Over and I'm Victorious

On April 5, 1956, I was selected to the late Thelma and Louise Waller's team. There were players already on the team; Ruby Ingram (deceased) was on 1st base, Frances Kleckley holding down 2nd base, Willie Waller standing on 3rd, Mary Brown was up to bat while Herman Waller was waiting in the dugout. Gloria Waller (deceased) was waiting her turn while cheering everyone on. I, came along and made hits so Gary Waller (deceased), Bobby Waller, Kennedy Waller, Sylvia Robinson, Ronnie Sims, and Sharon Dobson could join the team. Born in Eatonton, Georgia and then moved to Miami, Florida where I attended Rainbow Elementary, Miami Dade Middle School and rounding out my education at Miami Carol City High School. Ms. Carolyn is my name. as I was called by my late husband Johnnie Wright. Upon joining our lives together, we welcomed two beautiful daughters Kevonda Wright and Natari Crawford. I always helped and surrounded my life with children. I gave love to Louise Jasmine as my own. Oh, my love didn't stop there, I gave a loving home to my grandchildren Tyteanna, Kayla, Dominick, Rhyanna, Jaylen and Morail. Although Parker wasn't in the household, she still had a place in her grandmother's heart. You know it didn't stop there because I was an amazing great grandmother to Cedric Jr., Tiana, and Faith. My faith led me to join New Vision for Christ under the leadership of Pastor Michael Screen Sr. I continued to be a faithful working servant under the leadership of Pastor Michael Screen Jr. until my health declined. I served in the usher ministry, nursery ministry, as a member of the choir, and even used my talent as choir director. I was employed by the United States Postal Service for many years. Not only did I love my family but baking also gave me great pleasure.
I loved baking cakes. I served in the usher ministry, nursery ministry, as a member of the choir, and even used my talent as choir director. I was employed by the United States Postal Service for many years. Not only did I love my family but baking also gave me great pleasure. I loved baking cakes during the holidays. I also have a bonus sister (like I didn't have enough already) Vivian Santana, who's also my cousin. God blessed me with the amazing and loving Aunt Gertrude and Uncle John David Stephens who will surely miss me. My love train continues with a host nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great-nieces and nephews. Oh, yes, I was fond of the spouses my siblings chose; Horace Kleckley, Joan Waller, Doyle Brown, Darlene Waller, Calvin Robinson, and Melissa Sims. I was special auntie to my niece Shayla Dobson and Delicia Batten-Jean. I had so many great friends that I loved dearly. I had a great love for softball and played on a local team for many years. You can always catch me watching sports {Miami Dolphins} and scary movies. Back in the day "The Twilight Zone" was one of my favorite shows. My favorite song was "Have You Been Tried by the Fire". I was tried by the fire and came through as pure GOLD. As an avid softball player, I lived life hitting home runs. On November 13, 2022, at 10:15 p.m., God spoke to me and said the game is over today, you hit a home run. With that last run, I'm bringing you home, it's over. Now that you have rounded the bases, there are no more troubles, no more illness, no more restless nights, and no more hospitals or doctors. God said come unto me and rest with me in eternity BECAUSE YOU ARE VICTORIOUS AND I HAVE MADE YOU WHOLE. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
