Calvin Everad Wood, 85, of Hanover, Jamaica, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 07, 2021. His final days were spent in the company of wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends whose lives he touched in memorable ways.

Calvin, known affectionately by everyone as Jew, was born in Hanover, Jamaica on September 01, 1936. Calvin worked as a farmer in Jamaica before he immigrated to the United States in 1987 to join his wife, Adassa, in Florida, where their children and grandchildren later joined them. Calvin settled in Miami, Florida where he lived a happy and simple middle-class life and raised his children. He worked alongside his brother-in-law at his brother-in-law's welding shop to help support his family. In his spare time Calvin enjoyed up keeping his beautiful lawn, gardening and spending time with his family.

Calvin was very stern and raised his children to be respectful and mannerly at all times. Looking at him you would think he was a serious no nonsense kind of guy, but he had a heart of gold. He had a soft spot for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were his world.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Conslaya Adassa Wood; his six children: Jennifer, Althea, Shevoin, Lemuel, Marcia and Andrea; ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 7 brothers and 5 sisters; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
