Barrington "Dada" Brown

Barrington Augustus Brown, 81, died Monday, May 20, 2024 at Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Miami, FL.

Dada was born April 15, 1943 in Hanover Parish, Jamaica to Gerthel Buckner and Richard Emanuel Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Linnette Brown, Desmond Brown, Derrick Brown, Celburn Williams, and Wendell Campbell, and survived by Burnetta Brown (sister), his Wife Joyce Brown, and children Violet Brown, Sheldon Brown, Karlene Brown, and Leighton Brown, grandchildren KJ Kirkland and Skye Brown, and great grandchild Robyn Blackwell.

Barrington left school at an early age to take care of his ailing father and would forgo a formal education. He later became a tradesman in brick masonry, building homes, commercial businesses, and hotels along the coast of Jamaica. He also owned and operated other businesses in Jamaica and Miami, Florida where he immigrated in the late 80s.

Dada was a storyteller and truth teller at heart; If you had the time and a listening ear he would tell you a story. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. His actions were outwardly courageous-brave-strong.
