Obituary

Arlean Nelson was born on November 2, 1949 in Tippo, Mississippi, to the late Reverend Robert James Davis Sr and Rubie Lee Davis. She attended Allen Carver High School in Charleston, Mississippi until she was selected for an Accelerated Honors Program at Tuskegee Institute in Tuskeegee, Alabama.

Arlean went to New York for a summer job with the intentions of returning to her studies in the fall. However, it was here where she crossed paths with the love of her life, Adrian Nelson, in which she has shared 50 years.

They moved to Toronto, Canada in 1972, where they got married. The union endured three children, Michael, Alex and Victor Nelson. While living in Toronto, Canada, she attended George Brown College and earned an Associate Degree in Accounting, and worked for an International Brokerage Company before heading to Miami, Florida in 1984. She attended Nursing Unlimited and earned a Certificate in Patient Care/Nursing Assistance. This brought her to Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami, where she worked for 14 years.
